That’s why we’ve made a simple phone script that you can use to call your insurance provider and check if your insurance benefits cover telehealth nutrition therapy.

The direct line to check your insurance benefits is typically listed on the back of your insurance card. Look for the phone number listed next to “Provider Claims and Benefits:”. Then follow our script to ensure services like:

  • Individual diabetes self-management
  • Preventative nutrition counseling
  • Medical nutrition therapy assessment & follow-up

are covered under your current insurance plan. Remember to always be courteous to your phone representatives, they want to help you find and utilize all the benefits you have available to you!

You’re Covered! What’s Next?

If you determine that you are covered for telehealth nutrition counseling services, schedule your complimentary consultation! One of our registered dietitians will get to know you, and discuss some of your options for treatment with Happy Gut Nutrition

After your brief discovery call, you’re cleared to schedule your first nutrition counseling session. This session is typically longer (think forty-five to sixty minutes), and sets the groundwork for your nutrition counseling plan, and health goals.

Follow-up counseling sessions can be scheduled weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or even quarterly. We’ll determine the best timing for your schedule and needs as we continue to work together on your health goals.

If you don’t have insurance or aren’t covered by your insurance plan, you can still receive the same high-quality care through our self-pay options.
